In Memory of 'Honey'
Born December 10th 2001 ~ Died December 12th 2011
If it should be that I grow frail and weak
And pain should keep me from my sleep,
Then will you do what must be done,
For this -- the last battle -- can't be won.
You will be sad I understand,
But don't let grief then stay your hand,
For on this day, more than the rest,
Your love and friendship must stand the test.
We have had so many happy years,
You wouldn't want me to suffer so.
When the time comes, please, let me go.
Take me where, to my needs they'll tend,
Only, stay with me till the end
And hold me firm and speak to me
Until my eyes no longer see.
I know in time you will agree
It is a kindness you do to me.
Although my tail its last has waved,
From pain and suffering I have been saved.
Don't grieve that it must be you
Who has to decide this thing to do;
We've been so close - we two - these years,
Don't let your heart hold any tears.

Words cannot describe my deep grief over losing my loyal companion 'Honey'.
She lost her fight to a cancer in December 2011, and I had to make the hardest decision I could hardly bear to make.
But the poem above really gave me comfort after her passing.
The author is unknown, but who ever wrote these words, truly understood the loss of a beloved pet, and also
looked at it from the point of view of any animal and owner at a truly sad and dark time.
Honey died at home on the 12th December 2011, put to sleep, with me comforting her, and looking into her eyes until she saw me no more.
Until we meet again my Beautiful Girl.....Rest In Peace now without pain.
I also cannot praise highly enough, the care and treatment of her after her passing

Alison and her team cannot be faulted on their caring and compassionate service
for owners, after the passing of their pet.
Respect and Dignity is paramount in their service.
Honey was transported away individually in a respectful way in a beautiful hearse like vehicle.
Alison laid white roses all around her, in respect for such a beautiful dog.
I said my goodbyes for the final time, and she was taken away.
Honey was cremated, individually, and her ashes returned to me.
'Her star is already shining brightly in the Heavens'
Thank you Alison, for the support, compassion, and dignity for my wonderful 'Honey'
