The doll kit used was 'Vivien' by Evelina Wosnjuk, a very similar likeness !

And now.................

'KRISTA'
SCULPT BY LINDA MURRAY.

Krista hair rooted by me  to have a certain style of hair and look.
below shows her with just a base coat of paint and some blushing
(please note the blushing done by the owner was very subtle and my photography and lighting has not picked it up  in all honesty, in
the first set of pictures).

I have included the before and after pictures so that you can see the difference.

Now  I have painted Krista's face, and she has had extra blushing, also I have inserted and glued in her eyes, painted her eyebrows, and inserted her eyelashes, glued into place, and secured.
The painting was set first, then I glued in the eyes, and added the eyelashes, glued in the hair inside the head last..

Her lips were sealed with varnish, also at the time of the painting/heat setting.

If you are wondering about how I paintd the blushing and eyebrows 'after' rooting the hair,
this is simply done by wrapping a thick towel around the rooted hair/head, and I then set the genesis paints by using a heat gun very carefully. It is safe to do, and the heat gun can be pointed at only the areas you wish to dry,and
thus easily avoiding heating the hair and damaging it. The mat varnish is also heat set in this way on her face, very carefully !!
I do this also before the hair is glued in place so that the glue is not heated and becomes unstable.

Below are the two pictures sent to me. Krista, now assembled in her full glory !!

Krista complete is a OOAK reborn doll.

I hope you have enjoyed  Krista !

"Arianna" sculpt by Reva Schick

28 inch tall older 'child' doll.

This is how a doll kit will look before painting.Just plain vinyl parts, which have to be prepared and then skillfully painted to bring the doll to 'life'

Arianna was 28 inches long, and is the biggest doll kit I have had the pleasure of working on. Her legs are much bigger than I have worked with before, and this little lady will took some weeks to produce The body was supplied with this doll kit, and was designed to suit the body shape required.

I painted Arianna, with Genesis heat set paints in realistic skin tones, that were typical of an older child. I did not give her too much 'mottling' because she would not display this at this age, but rather a  gentle effect of 'skin circulation' tones. I did give her subtle blue veins around the ankle and wrists, also on her head and temples. her hair was the biggest task, with rooting her hair with long premium angora mohair from France and the USA. I chose two colours that complimented each other to create a blend of a 'redhead', and 'blonde', so it is not as dark as an adults 'redhead colour', but as a younger child. I sourced these two colours from two separate suppliers, and was very lucky to find exactly the colours I needed.

I haven't mixed two colours together before but I was very pleased with the end results.
Arianna took many hours to paint and root the hair, and finish completely.

I made certain accessories for her. I hand made the pacifier which was crocheted and I added a magnet to the back. I did this because the mouth being open, had inside the head a small mound that you could not stick a magnet to 'spot on' in the middle, and although I tried one of my own pacifiers (plastic one), it would just not stay put, even with a strong magnet. the angle of the inside of the mouth and the pacifier magnet was impossible. So I came up with the solution of a lightweight pacifier, and very pretty it looks too !

(a tip to those making Arianna)

All in all, a lovely doll to work on.
I highly recommend Reva Schick's sculpts and doll kits are of high quality, with lovely soft vinyl, that even unpainted, feels like silicon, and also you usually receive a custom body, plus the way the doll kit is sent in a fabric drawstring bag, is a lovely touch.

I hope you enjoy viewing the following photos. All taken in natural light, no flash or changes to any of the photos, near a window  to try and show as much as possible of my painting skills

This 'Meg' is a 20 inch long baby doll, with 3/4 arms and full legs. She has soft premium mid brown
angora mohair hair, micro rooted in a typical baby style, with hand rooted eyelashes. She has a lovely little beauty spot on the cheek.
Any questions about her creation from new reborners I am happy to answer on how I made her.

 'Paige'

A Tasha Edenholm sculpt

This is Paige.  by Tasha Edenholm

Paige is a cutie ! She has honey blonde hair. She is 17 inches long, (preemie) and weighs 4lbs clothed.

She was painted with Genesis heat set paints, and her hair is quality mohair. I micro rooted h
er hair 1 or 2 hairs at a time for a 'New Baby' look. She had full limbs and a flesh coloured doe suede body.
Please note these limbs are from a Berjusa doll, which I chose especially to match Paige's delicate features.

(Adopted)

Painted to have very realistic skin tones, with blushing and slight mottling. Veins on her head and lips, nails all protecetd with a varnish to help prevent chipping.

Paige is a OOAK collectors doll and is NOT fo
children..
She is hand made, hand painted, hair is hand applied taking hours to root her head. The inside of her head is glued to catch the ends of the hair poked through. Her hair is natural in colour and can be gently moistened, and styled with a soft baby brush, flat or into a quiff style as shown in one of my pictures.

Photography taken by myself using a 7 million megapixel digital camera in natural light. No enhancements to any of my photos.
